Directory transparency

How we verify information

Verification is not one vague badge. We distinguish the source of a practice fact, the quality of supporting evidence, and whether someone is authorized to manage a listing.

Where directory facts can come from

Practice information may come from public records, government sources, office websites, participating regional networks, approved data providers, or authorized practice representatives. A source can support one fact without proving every other claim about an office.

What “verified practice control” means

This label means we reviewed evidence that an account is authorized to manage information for a physical practice location. Evidence may include a work or domain email, an existing approved network account, professional or public-record corroboration, or manual review.

It does not mean: the practice is clinically superior, recommended by American Dentists, guaranteed to accept a plan, or guaranteed to have an appointment available.

How facts are maintained

We keep source and observation context where practical. Newer authorized corrections generally take priority over automated collection. Disputed information is reviewed and may be withheld while evidence is evaluated.

Regional page ownership

Each local market has one page-owning brand. Central Valley Dentists owns its regional city and practice pages; American Dentists links to those pages instead of publishing duplicate profiles.

Report a concern

Send the page URL, the fact at issue, and supporting context to directory@americandentists.com. Do not email patient records or other sensitive health information.
