Editorial policy

Our educational content should make dental decisions easier to understand without pretending to replace an individual clinical evaluation.

Last updated: August 17, 2026

Scope

Our guides cover general dental procedures, costs, insurance concepts, oral health, urgent-care decisions, and questions patients can ask. Directory facts and promotional practice copy are kept distinct from educational articles.

How content is developed

We write in plain language, consult reliable professional and public-health references where appropriate, and review claims for scope and clarity. Articles identify meaningful limitations, including when costs, coverage, availability, or treatment suitability vary.

Commercial independence

Payment for Featured placement does not determine guide topics, conclusions, or clinical statements. Sponsored placement is labeled and does not create a “best dentist” designation.

Updates and corrections

Articles display a review date. We revise material when standards, source information, or reader feedback show that an explanation is incomplete or outdated. To request a correction, email editorial@americandentists.com with the article URL and supporting context.

Not personal advice

Our content is general education. It does not establish a dentist-patient relationship, diagnose a condition, or recommend treatment for a particular person.
