This guide provides general education, not a diagnosis or personal treatment recommendation. Costs and coverage vary; ask a licensed dental professional and your benefit plan about your situation.

Think in phases

An implant estimate may cover only the implant post, while a complete tooth replacement also includes the connector and crown. Imaging, extraction, bone grafting, temporary teeth, or sedation may be separate.

Ask for one coordinated estimate

When more than one office is involved, request a written estimate from each clinician and confirm who is responsible for every phase.

  • Diagnostic imaging
  • Extraction or grafting
  • Implant placement
  • Abutment and final crown
  • Temporary replacement and follow-up

Compare suitability, not just price

Bone, gum health, smoking, certain health conditions, and maintenance can affect treatment. Ask why the recommended design fits your situation, what alternatives exist, and what happens if additional treatment becomes necessary.
